This workshop will cover the basics of effective library instruction. Whether you teach primarily one-shot classes, or more extensive information literacy instruction, you will gain important tools and ideas on how to infuse interactivity and active learning into your teaching. Also, we will cover how to effectively use technology and student participation in your presentations.

Shannon Pritting
Shannon Pritting is currently Special Instruction and Programming Librarian at Penfield Library, SUNY Oswego. He’s held various positions in academic libraries such as Coordinator of Access Services and Public Services Librarian. Also, he was an English Instructor at SUNY Oswego before becoming a librarian. His research interests are in instructional design, information literacy, and incorporating the writing process into library instruction.
