The Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC) has partnered with SCORE Buffalo Niagara, a non-profit partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide free and confidential advice and assistance to WNYLRC member libraries and library systems on aspects of planning, start-up, management and growth. This network of volunteer business experts is prepared to extend its services on topics such as developing business plans, creating a marketing strategy, building your brand, identifying target audiences, crowd funding, insurance issues, conflict resolution, and other areas in which skilled business mentors can help enhance library operations.
As with our "Ask the Lawyer" service, members must complete the Ask the SCORE Business Mentor form. Members should provide as much information as possible on the issue to ensure the mentor has the information needed to fully answer the inquiry. Part of WNYLRC's goal is to also build a self-help section which will include recently asked questions (RAQs) as well as resources to address your common operational or business concerns.
