Ken Stone has been heavily involved in governmental finance for over 40 years, beginning as an Evaluator for the U.S. General Accounting Office (now known as the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and moving on to responsible positions in City and County governments. Upper management positions included service as Program Development and Audit Manager (budget and internal audit) for the City of Anaheim, California; Budget Director for the City of Spokane, Washington; and currently, Deputy Director – Chief Financial Officer of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System, a regional library system serving the citizens of Erie County, New York through 37 library facilities and 2 high-tech mobile library vehicles covering a territory of 1,043 square miles. Mr. Stone possesses a Master of Public Administration Degree from California State University at Fullerton and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the same institution.
Mr. Stone enjoys teaching and interacting with students learning about public budgeting concepts and realities in PAD 601 Public Budgeting at SUNY Buffalo State. He also actively participates in the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), serving as Chapter President in 2018 through June 2019 and Treasurer from January 2020-present.
Briana McNamee is the Director of Government Relations & Advocacy at the New York Library Association. Prior to becoming a lobbyist in New York State and Washington D.C, Briana worked with representatives in the State Legislature. With previous roles spanning both the private and public sector, she has a unique perspective on all-things “Capitol”.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree as a student-athlete at University at Albany in Political Theory. Years later, she returned to her now-hometown university to receive her Master’s degree in Business & New Venture Development.
